Incumbent director Isabel Axiö is the new National Vice President of the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR).
Joining the board of directors for 2024-26 are Michelle Mandl as a nominated director and Katherine Dodd as an elected director.
Axiö, a Senior Consultant at RMCG, has been a WMRR director since 2022, while Mandl, who is general manager – communications, customer and engagement at TOMRA Cleanaway, is a newcomer to the board.
Dodd, general manager and principal environmental consultant at MRA Consulting, was elected after the more than 100 members cast their ballots for one of three candidates.
“WMRR congratulates Isobel on the national vice presidency, and Michelle and Katherine on their appointment to the board and welcomes the broad range of skills and experience they will bring to the table,” WMRR national president Geoffrey Webster said.
“I also want to pay particular thanks to outgoing board members – national vice president Mark Rawson, nominated directors Toby Terlet and Christine Wardle, all of whom have dedicated time and energy to the WMRR board for the past four years.
“I would also like to thank elected board member Justin Bonsey for his enthusiasm and contribution to the success of WMRR.
“WMRR is lucky to have such an engaged and knowledgeable membership from which to draw skills, talent and experience across the breadth and depth of the entire waste and resource recovery industry.”
All new board directors will begin their terms at the forthcoming WMRR Annual General Meeting in Brisbane on Tuesday 25 June 2024.
