Waste Expo Australia 2025 leads push in resource recovery

Waste Expo 2025

Australia’s largest gathering of resource recovery professionals is back this October, uniting government, industry, and innovators to advance sustainable waste solutions. Waste Expo Australia is back in 2025 and ready to take centre stage in the national conversation around waste and resource recovery.

Held over two days, 29–30 October, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, this flagship event is the country’s premier platform for industry professionals committed to reducing landfill and improving environmental outcomes. More than 140 exhibitors and over 3,000 trade visitors are expected to attend, making it the biggest event of its kind in Australia.

With a focus on innovation, policy, and technology, Waste Expo Australia 2025 provides an essential space for leaders across local government, commercial enterprise, and industry associations to explore cutting-edge solutions, form strategic partnerships, and drive change in the sector.

Prue Rowe, ANZ group marketing and public relations manager for long-time exhibitor EcoCycle, said the expo continues to be a valuable event for showcasing the company’s specialised capabilities in battery, mercury, X-ray, lighting, metal, and e-waste recycling.

“As a leader in the industry, the event allows us to engage with government and commercial partners, highlight advancements in our national recycling infrastructure, and demonstrate our growing capabilities in areas such as battery-in-device processing, safe storage solutions, and our national collection network,” Rowe said.

“It is an invaluable opportunity to stay informed, strengthen relationships, and support progress across the waste and recycling sector.”

The event is free to attend and features a robust conference program addressing key issues across waste and resource recovery, circular economy strategies, energy from waste, and environmental policy. Sessions are designed to inform and inspire, offering practical insights and forward-thinking ideas to help shape the future of waste management in Australia.

For businesses working in waste, recycling, organics, or sustainability, Waste Expo Australia offers a rare chance to get in front of a highly targeted and engaged audience.

It’s a benefit Simon Sherwood, managing director of Material Processing Solutions (MPS-PTY), experienced firsthand in 2024. After launching the business that year, Sherwood used the event to build visibility and is returning in 2025.

“Whether you’re launching a new product, entering the Australian market, or looking to expand your network, Waste Expo Australia gets you seen and heard by the people who matter,” Sherwood said. “Face-to-face meetings are a great way to build relationships with customers and build new clientele. Last year’s expo provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen MPS-PTY’s visibility in the market.”

With exhibitor spaces now open and demand high, organisers encourage businesses to secure their spot early and join the movement toward a cleaner, more sustainable Australia.
