VWMA wants you to tell your story

The Victorian Waste Management Association (VWMA) is urging the industry to talk about the great work it is doing and says the Australian Freight Awards (AFIAs) is a good platform to do so.

Sponsored by TWUSUPER and Viva Energy, the 29th AFIAs comprises a range of categories, including waste and recycling, which is sponsored by National Transport Insurance.

This particular award acknowledges the close relationship between the Victorian Transport Association and the VWMA and recognises the implementation of a policy or program and/or technology innovation that improves sustainability.

The judges will look for specific instances where a company can demonstrate: a reduction in total waste, an increase in resource recovery, a staff training program implemented in their customer’s business to reduce, recycle, recover and the rollout of infrastructure to achieve sustainable outcomes. This can be part of an overall package that reduces waste and / or energy.

Nominations will close on Friday, August 17 and the winners will be announced at a special presentation evening held on Saturday, September 1, at the Palladium Ballroom at Crown in Melbourne.
