The conference will involve an international audience comprising business and industry; the academic and scientific community; local, state, federal and regional Australasian governments; and the community not-for-profit sector, in Australia's first conference to address the urgent issue of eliminating marine plastic pollution from the waste stream.

We have a confirmed list of fantastic speakers from Asia and the Pacific, the CSIRO, the Pacific Region Infrastructure Facility, innovative businesses, regional, federal and state ministers, local government representatives, not-for-profit organisations and community advocates... with new additions every day.

In addition to presentations on policy, business solutions, council, community and government strategies, we have:

  • A look at Circular Economy models in action from the Fashion, Textiles, ICT, Fast Moving Consumer Goods and Automotive sectors, among others…
  • Product Stewardship and Extended Producer Responsibility vs Government regulation
  • A discussion of economic and legal arguments for taking action
  • Consideration of microplastics and the food chain
  • How to drive lasting behaviour change at the consumer level

We are also pleased to be working in conjunction with The Plasticity Forum, which will host ‘Plasticity Sydney', a B2B forum discussing the future of plastic.
