Michael Keleman is the manager of environmental engineering for InSinkErator - the largest manufacturer of in-sink food disposers. He will be visiting Sydney for a series of meetings and briefings to share the latest on international projects converting food waste into energy and reducing waste to landfill.

With the growing demand on the state's finite landfill resources and the rising cost of tipping to landfill, many councils are examining ways to reduce the quantity of household waste collected and ways to convert waste to energy. This is particularly relevant for councils that are experiencing a significant growth in dwellings in their area, especially new multi-unit developments.

A special event is being hosted by the City of Canada Bay Council on Monday, November 13 at 10.30am. Waste and Environmental officers from Councils across Sydney have been invited to participate in this briefing and be involved in a Q&A with Michael. Sydney Water and the EPA have also been invited.
