The auction will run on February 16-21 at the company’s permanent auction site in Orlando.More than 7000 heavy equipment items and trucks will be sold to the highest bidder, with no minimum bids or reserve prices, Ritchie Bros said.According to the auctioneer, more than 6000 registered bidders from 46 countries signed up for last year’s public auction.“For 2009, we’ve added 75 acres of equipment space and one more day to the sale; and we’re expecting to sell even more than we did in 2008,” the company said.Ritchie Bros divisional manager Gary Seybold said: “There’s no other auction in the world like the Ritchie Bros February Orlando auction, in terms of its sheer size and the amount and variety of equipment being sold – and there’s no better place to find the equipment you need at the price you’re willing to pay.” The first unit to be auctioned next month arrived at the Orlando site in October last year, and Seybold said the company was still accepting consignments.“Because the auction will be unreserved, every item will have a new owner at the end of the auction,” he said.According to Ritchie Bros, the 200-acre auction site is filling with cranes, hydraulic excavators, forklifts, skid steer loaders, rock trucks and tractors.Ring Power Corporation, Kelly Tractor, Gigliotti Contracting, Jackson & Sons Construction, Sunbelt Rentals and United Rentals have all delivered equipment for auction.
