Nomad awarded $30M Woodside contract

Nomad has been contracted to build two group-housing lots in the Karratha suburb of Nickol West, plus 45 houses and villas in Karratha for Woodside’s Pluto LNG project. The builder said the work would involve its Rapley Wilkinson subsidiary, which will build 29 strata-titled villas on the two group-housing lots in Nickol West. Rapley Wilkinson’s property division will act as the development manager and another Nomad subsidiary, McGrath Homes, will build the two-bedroom, two-bathroom villas in Perth and transport them to Karratha. Rapley Wilkinson’s construction division will undertake the site works and install the units. Woodside has also entered into a contract with McGrath Homes for the supply and installation of 16 three-bedroom, two-bathroom houses on individual lots in Karratha. Nomad said the work includes site works, landscaping and fencing. The builder said today the site works on the group-housing lots would begin this month, with the targeted handover of the completed villas expected to take place in July. Nomad last week announced a net profit of $8.2 million for the December half, 21.2% lower than the same period last year, despite recording a 61.8% increase in revenue. In January, the company’s managing director, Phil Guy, resigned following “unacceptable cost overruns”, but the company said his move was for health and family reasons.
