Toyota’s Huski skid steers have earned a strong reputation in this country and the distinctive blue and white machines are a common sight around construction sites. The Huski 4SDK range has been around for a long time and the introduction of the new-generation 5SDK range at ACE 2009 is a big deal for TMH.Toyota Material Handling brand manager Bob Walmsley says the new range was extensively tested and evaluated in Australia.“The scale of the local development work and testing reflects the importance of the Australian market and the toughness of the environment in which Huski skid steer loaders are expected to perform here,” he says. For the first time, Huski buyers will be able to order a machine with either Toyota’s own hitch or a universal hitch.“We wanted to make certain that operators who were keen to switch from other makes would not be disadvantaged by the need to purchase new attachments to suit,” Walmsley said. The 4-in-1 bucket is standard on all Toyota Huski 5SDK models. There are five new models – the 5SDK5 (430kg operating load), 5SDK8 (650kg), 5SDK9 (730kg), 5SDK10 (820kg) and 5SDK11 (900kg). TMH will continue to sell the 4SDK4 (320kg) as an entry-level model.ACE 2009 will be held from February 26 to 28 at Sandown Racecourse.
