The project, which is scheduled to commence early in 2009, involves the construction of 4.5km of a new dual lane access road, three new bridges and approximately 3km of work to widen existing roads.Macmahon said the project had been undertaken by Main Roads WA to help improve road safety by reducing heavy vehicle traffic on the existing bypass road and to reduce conflict between heavy vehicles, tourists and commuters.The company has recently worked with Main Roads WA on the Mitchell Freeway north of Perth, and is also currently carrying out the Reid Highway extension northeast of Perth.
