The report, based on polling commissioned from YouGov Galaxy, indicates a 22% decline in the value of unwanted consumer goods in Australia. Gumtree reported 89% of Australians had an average of 25 items worth a total $4200, giving the second-hand economy a value of $34 billion.
That’s a hefty drop from the 2017 edition of the report, which estimated average values of $5400 and a second-hand economy worth $43.5 billion. Read more
