Ventia has been recognised as a finalist in the prestigious Banksia Sustainability Awards for its world-first, patented PFAS removal technology, known as SourceZone.
The 2021 Banksia Sustainability Awards, presented at a virtual ceremony on March 24th, recognised leading sustainability initiatives in an effort to provide encouragement and an example for others to follow.
Ventia’s SourceZone was recognised for its ability to remove up to 99% of PFAS contaminants from a range of soil concentrations and types, including sands and clays and for being able to do so in a truly sustainable way.
Ventia PFAS Manager Charles Grimison said the technology and acknowledgment from the Banksia Foundation was recognition of many years of hard work.
“What started as a vision to create a PFAS removal solution that was highly effective, sustainable and economical is now available across Australia to tackle some of the country’s largest legacy PFAS challenges,” he said.
“A huge congratulations on this wonderful recognition — to everyone who has been involved in the development of this world-first technology.”
