Wastech appoints Russell as CEO

Wastech Engineering, a provider of waste management and resource recovery solutions, has appointed Scott Russell to CEO of the company.

Russell joined Wastech in 2020 as general manager after more than 25 years in the industrials sector, including two decades in waste management. In his new role which becomes effective immediately, he will lead the company’s day-to-day operations with a focus on servicing a growing customer base.

In making the appointment, Wastech managing director, Neil Bone, will turn his focus to steering the company’s product development strategy. Bone said that Wastech was well placed to build on the momentum of recent years.

“Scott’s elevation and the creation of the CEO role is a clear statement of intent on behalf of the senior management team and board to take the business to the next level. Scott’s extensive experience in the waste management sector, particularly in the resources and infrastructure markets across Australia and New Zealand, will ensure we can keep pursuing our ambitious growth agenda,” Bone said.

Russell welcomed the opportunity to lead the business through its next phase of growth.

Throughout his career, Russell has held various roles in the industrial, resources and infrastructure segments of the waste management sector including senior management positions with Cleanaway and Tox Free Solutions.
