Inside Waste seeks contributor

Inside Waste has an opportunity for a contributing writer to join its team and produce thought-provoking and informative news articles and features for its magazine and online platforms.

 The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of Australia’s waste and resource recovery industry, coupled with journalism experience and/or training. Ideally, the candidate will have a passion for the sector that reaches beyond consumer-driven waste management – into the depths of industry and government.

Inside Waste is the official publication of the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR). It comprises a bi-monthly magazine, twice-weekly e-newsletter and a regularly updated website. As a contributing writer, you will generate a range of original news and feature articles focusing on policy, regulation, innovations, research and development, and international issues.

This role will also involve:

  • Writing original feature articles on complex subject matter that inform and educate the waste and resource recovery industry.
  • Sourcing, pitching and writing a range of original news stories to appear online and in print.
  • An ability to work independently and fulfil weekly and monthly tasks set by Inside Waste.
  • Occasional event/conference attendance.This role will suit a writer with an understanding and/or experience in the waste industry. It is a great opportunity to produce meaningful content within an essential industry for Australia.
