Finalists for WARR awards announced

The 2019 Waste and Resource Recovery (WARR) awards finalists have been announced after intense reviewing and consideration by 10 independent judging panels.

An awards evening, hosted by Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) and Inside Waste, will be held on November 14 to announce the winners.

Finalists were chosen by more than 30 experts from the waste and resource recovery industry, with a shortlist of three finalists across for each awards category.

WMRR CEO Gayle Sloan said there was an unprecedented number of nominations this year – at 88.

“It was a fantastic outcome and pleasing to see what players in the industry have been working on and excelling at over the last 12 months, and how they’ve been innovating.

“We all know that it’s been a challenging two years, but industry continues not just to chug along, but to go above and beyond, and this has really come through in the nominations we received,” Sloan, said.

“The judges certainly didn’t have it easy picking the finalists – it was a tight race. But they did a fantastic job throughout the review process and WMRR and Inside Waste thank the judges for their time and input, and all nominees for entering the Awards. We’d encourage everyone to participate again next year as we should continue to champion the good work that occurs in our sector,” she said.

The 2019 WARR Awards and gala dinner will be held at the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney. To purchase a ticket to the awards evening, click here.
