The association has commenced the process of director nominations for up to four nominated directors, one elected director, and the office of the vice president.
The first stage of this process will be appointing up to four nominated directors, shortly thereafter the process for elected directors will commence. Both these processes will be completed in time for the WMAA AGM In April 2018. As such WMAA is calling for the following nominations:
1. Three skilled positions
Three of these vacancies are dedicated to members with necessary skills to satisfy the WMAA mission and more specifically the objects of the WMAA Strategic Plan. Members with strong social enterprise, community engagement, recycling, landfill, organics, and or circular economy professional experience, and who meet the other eligibility criteria, are encouraged to nominate.
2. Government position
The board has determined that at least one of these vacancies should be dedicated to a member with government experience to assist in satisfying specific objects of the WMAA Strategic Plan. Members with strong senior government professional experience, and who meet the other eligibility criteria, are encouraged to nominate.
Successful candidates for each of the positions will take office for a term of two years, effective from the date of the WMAA AGM 2018. Directors are responsible for the governance of WMAA over the course of the two years.
Nominees must be willing to become financial members of WMAA and retain financial membership throughout their term on the Board.
Members may self-nominate with the endorsement of two proposers who are current financial members of WMAA.
Instructions for submitting your nomination:
- Complete the nomination form which includes addressing the specific eligibility criteria for a WMAA director.
- Provide a 200-word summary outlining your key attributes and what you will bring to the role of WMAA director.
- Provide a current CV.
Nominations received will be reviewed by the Board Nominations Committee assessed against the eligibility criteria. Nominees may be required to attend an interview with members of the Committee.
