Employment dips again

Male unemployment increased by 0.5%, while female unemployment increased by 0.4%.Overall employment decreased by 34,700 jobs to 10.77 million, while the number of full-time positions decreased by 38,900 to 7.6 million.Part-time employment increased by just 4200 to 3.1 million.According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, there are now more than 500,000 Australians looking for full-time and part-time work.There are now 33.3% more Australians unemployed than in March last year.Meanwhile, the ANZ Job Advertisements survey released earlier this week revealed that employment ads fell by 8.5% in March.The drop takes the total reduction in employment ads to 44.6% year-on-year.New South Wales recorded the biggest drop, with newspaper job ads falling 9.2%, while Western Australia only saw a 1.1% drop.Bucking the trend, the Northern Territory actually saw a 19.2% increase in newspaper job ads during March.
