Australia’s infrastructure and construction sectors are undergoing a major shift, with recycled and reused materials now playing a central role in how we build for the future. Supporting this transformation is the ecologiQ Greener Infrastructure Conference, returning in 2025 in partnership with Waste Expo Australia.

Held on 29–30 October 2025 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, this influential two-day event will once again shine a spotlight on the innovations, policies, and partnerships shaping sustainable infrastructure across the country.

In 2025, ecologiQ and the Waste Expo Australia have partnered  to offer attendees a truly end-to-end view of the circular economy. By combining the country’s largest gathering of waste and resource recovery professionals with one of Victoria’s most important sustainable infrastructure forums, this co-location allows visitors to connect policy, procurement, product innovation, and on-the-ground project delivery in one place.

Sherri Pearson, Exhibition Manager for Waste Expo Australia, says the partnership offers unmatched value:

“We’re proud to co-locate and partner with ecologiQ,” says Sherri Pearson, Exhibition Manager for Waste Expo Australia.
“It provides a complete circular picture, from the point of discard and processing to advanced manufacturing and the integration of materials back into infrastructure and the wider economy. It’s a truly end-to-end perspective that reflects where the industry is heading.”

Held over two days, 29–30 October 2025, the ecologiQ Greener Infrastructure Conference will feature keynote addresses, case studies, technical panels, and a dedicated trade exhibition. It will explore:

  • Successful applications of recycled materials in roads, rail and civil infrastructure.
  • Incorporating sustainable outcomes into business case and design.
  • How recycled materials are enabling low-carbon construction outcomes.
  • Re-energising manufacturing, building robust supply chains onshore and supporting suppliers to bring new products to market.

At the heart of the conference is the continued rollout of the Recycled First Policy, which has already facilitated the use of more than 5.5 million tonnes of recycled materials across Victoria’s Big Build projects. ecologiQ has played a key role in accelerating this shift—connecting stakeholders, enabling innovation, and opening doors for manufacturers to bring new circular products to market. Alexis Davison, Executive Program Director at Major Road Projects Victoria, says:

“This conference is about turning ideas into action—creating a space where innovation, policy, and procurement intersect to make greener infrastructure a reality.”
