Digga buys Universal

Digga managing director and chief executive Suzie Wright said the deal was “a strategic move to grow our product range within Australia and to combine the forces of these two highly respected companies to further develop the UK and European arms of our businesses”.Digga is the largest Australian manufacturer and exporter of gearboxes and construction equipment attachments such as auger drives, trenchers, augers, brooms and wear parts.Universal Augers designs and builds a wide range of drilling tools, ranging from small post hole augers for skid steer loaders to large-diameter rotary foundation drilling tools to suit all types of foundation piling machines.Digga says the Universal products will combine with Digga’s multi award winning I-Drive and compact high torque drives to form a comprehensive product portfolio to suit the foundation, screw anchor, horizontal boring and utility markets.Universal Augers Australia will be merged into Digga’s 12,500 square metre manufacturing facility in Brisbane.Digga says it will retain the Universal brand.
