CICA progresses industry strategic planning process

The move comes after CICA issued an industry survey in December seeking stakeholder contributions, which it plans to use in mapping out its future.“Now more than ever we need to be mindful of the road ahead,” CICA chief executive Alan Marshall said.He said that in addition to a comprehensive stakeholder survey program, the CICA board will review all input and go through a strategic planning workshop in Perth in mid-February as an extension to the normal board meeting. “While it is somewhat premature to be commenting on our plans, I am expecting that the CICA Board will be looking at strengthening our ‘flagship’ CraneSafe program; improving member products and services; enhancing our industry issues representation and lobbying program; and endeavouring to increase membership levels,” Marshall said. CICA president John Gillespie said the organisation last reviewed its key plans in 2005. “We have actively sought input from our members, state associations and our various stakeholders so we are being very mindful of our important role to represent and lead the industry,” Gillespie said.
