Cairns Regional Council is seeking tender submissions from a variety of suitably experienced parties to be part of a Register for the purchase of post-consumer recyclables.
The purpose of this invitation is to create a Register of Pre-qualified Purchasers eligible to purchase recyclables from the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF). The MRF and associated Glass Processing Facility (GPF) are capable of processing up to 25,000 tonnes of high quality recyclable materials per annum. The processing facilities offer state of the art optical sorting, screening and quality control systems which produces high-quality recovered cardboard, paper, plastics, glass, steel and aluminium materials, meeting post China market specifications and national waste export bans.
Recyclable materials recovered through the MRF and GPF are as follows: plastic including HDPE {natural & coloured), PET {clear & coloured), Polypropylene, drumMUSTER, and bumper bars; Mixed paper; cardboard; aluminium cans; glass aggregate (MRTS36), and steel rigid packaging.
All tender enquiries, questions or clarifications should be directed via the online forum. Cairns Regional Council is unable to respond to verbal inquiries in relation to the Tender. The forum closes five days prior to the closing time and date. Please ensure that all questions, information requests and clarifications are posted prior to this time. Completed responses must be lodged by uploading the submission to TenderLink, using the response forms within the tender documentation. We strongly recommend that you begin uploading your tender submission flies at least two (2) hours BEFORE closing time.
The tender closes at 4:30pm, Friday 23 February 2024. Submissions must be fully received by this time. Late, verbal or emailed tenders will not be accepted. Council reserves the right to change the specifications prior to making a decision on the submissions received in response to this invitation. Council may invite all Respondents to change their submission to take into account any change in the tender specifications.
