The company said to help achieve this goal it has signed a service agreement with Indigenous Training Australia that will see ITA providing labour hire and transport, pastoral care and family support to indigenous employees to support long-term retention of staff.“BBS is firmly committed to giving back to the communities that host its activities, and in the Pilbara, a key issue is a lack of long-term employment opportunities for indigenous people,” BBS executive director infrastructure services David Tucker said.“We saw this community issue as a chance for us to get involved and we’re proud to work with other member organisations towards providing employment for 50,000 indigenous Australians.” BBS is working with ITA in Port Hedland and will support the establishment of ITA’s business in the Newman region.The AEC has a target of 50,000 sustainable jobs for indigenous Australians.
