EPA prosecutions put operators between a rock and a hard place

Some recent Land and Environment Court cases serve as a reminder that operating waste facilities, waste transportation, and operating under environment protection licences are fraught with risks. One case shows that even with best-practice systems, procedures, and pro-active maintenance in place, the EPA may still prosecute you when something goes wrong.
