Ausgroup gets $120M in gas construction work

Under the contract – which starts immediately and is scheduled for completion by the end of the 2010 financial year – AusGroup will provide mechanical works associated with the installation of structural steel and process piping. The company will also install mechanical equipment, pre-assembled pipe racks, modules and structures, and test pipeworks. Pluto is expected to produce first gas in late 2010 and is set to become Australia’s second-largest resources project. Woodside is currently carrying out a drilling program in the Greater Pluto area to find additional gas reserves to underpin a second LNG train. AusGroup managing director John Sheridan said the contract “firmly” established the company as a key supplier to the LNG construction industry in Western Australia. The contract brings AusGroup’s order book to $264 million.
