New research explores potential of plastics and glass for concrete footpaths

Recovering and reusing resources is a key focus for the Victorian government and Sustainability Victoria, and as such, has been exploring ways to increase the use of recycled materials in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure such as roads, railways and footpaths.

“The problem we’ve found is that there have been a lot of recycled plastics and glass bottles that have been stockpiled on sites, to the point that there’s no more room available,” said Swinburne University of Technology’s Dr Yat Choy Wong.  Read more
